Clay is a trusted renewable energy professional with more than 15 years of experience on utility-scale projects. He provides strategic oversight across all stages of project development, from site evaluation and equipment selection to contract negotiations, construction management, interconnection, and commissioning. His background includes senior preconstruction roles at Swinerton, RES Americas, and SunPower, delivering efficient, cost-effective solutions for large-scale solar and wind projects. Clay was a founding member of Texas-based developer 7X Energy, where as Vice President of EPC he managed a large portfolio of projects, overseeing procurement, preconstruction, construction, and commissioning. Since the acquisition of 7X Energy by BP in 2021, Clay has worked as an independent consultant, supporting project development, construction, interconnection, and commissioning as an owner's representative. He lives in Golden, CO, where he enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his family.
